In these pages you will be introduced to some new and interesting areas of activity which have been initiated as a direct result of the growth and development of the Sustainable Jerusalem Coalition.

In addition to sharing in the authorship of the Sustainable Jerusalem Charter, and in the process of initiating a sustainable plan for the capital to be prepared together with the residents, several innovative processes have started, concerning environmental education and alternative planning concepts promoted by the residents. The deep involvement of the member organizations in all the environmental crises facing Jerusalem has resulted in the coalition having considerable impact on public planning policy, not only influencing the municipal planners significantly, but also changing attitudes through the weight of public opinion.

In the alternative planning, professional planners from the Forum for the Future of Jerusalem translate the residents' understanding of their neighborhood into a sustainable planning format.

When you read about some of these new ideas, please pass any comments or input you may have on to us.
